TERMS OF MARRIAGE REGISTRATION
On February 24, 2022, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Legal Regime of Martial Law,” a martial law regime was introduced in Ukraine. Therefore, on March 7, 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted stop number 213 “Some issues of state registration of marriage under martial law,” according to which we can register only foreigners. That is, if one of the brides is a citizen of another country.

When registering a marriage with a foreigner, it is necessary to submit the following documents: the passport of a citizen of Ukraine (original), the passport of a citizen of a foreign state (original), the translation of the passport (notarized), the translation of the document into Ukrainian on the dissolution of the marriage with the apostille, for the CIS countries the apostille is unnecessary (notarized). In case one of the applicants is a citizen of another state, the registration date for marriage will be set after a preliminary check by the Department of State Registration of Acts of Civil Marriage and migration services, but not before four days from the date of application.
