Stadium

Cherkasy Arena is the main multifunctional stadium in the city of Cherkasy, accommodating 10,321 spectators. Until the summer of 2009, it was the home arena for the local Dnipro football club. After its disbandment, the amateur team Khodak from Cherkasy held matches at this stadium, and from 2011 until moving to Bilozirja in 2018 – Cherkasy Dnipro. The stadium is located at ul. SmIlianska, 78.

The field of the stadium is oriented from north to south, around it, tribunes in the form of an oval are placed. Plastic chairs, according to the colors of Dnipro, are blue, red, and white, and white seats on the north stand form the inscription “FC Dnipro,” on the south stand “1957” (the year the stadium was opened). In 2011, communications were replaced at the stadium, in particular, the water and heat supply system, electrical wiring, the irrigation system was restored, which had not been used for the last two years, the lawn was updated, information stands were installed on the main alley that shows the tournament tables and the history of football in Cherkasy region. Installed a modern scoreboard and artificial lighting, providing a comfortable time for matches in the autumn-spring period. In the future, it is planned to reconstruct treadmills, put into operation two parking lots for 250-300 seats and a modern toilet for fans, etc.

ADVANTAGES OF THE HOSTEL AT THE STADIUM

FROM THE HISTORY OF THE STRUCTURE:

The stadium was built in 1957. The first opening match on November 9, 1957 was a game between the local club Kolkhoznik (later Dnipro) and the capital Dynamo (Kyiv), which was specially invited for the celebrations.

The meeting with the score “3-1” was won by Kyiv. Since the opening, the stadium was called DST “Kolkhoznik,” since the regional sports council “Kolkhoznik” was the initiator of the construction of the stadium. But on May 9, 1958, by the decision of the regional council, the newly built stadium was named after the Lenin Komsomol. In the early 90s, the stadium was renamed the “Central Stadium”

UPGRADE:

In 2011, for the first time in the last few decades, Cherkasy began to renovate the Central Stadium – for this purpose, the regional council allocated 800 thousand hryvnias, the city council – almost 2.8 million, another 2 millions came from the state budget. The reconstruction of the main sports arena Cherkasy is carried out in accordance with the requirements for championships of various levels, which should subsequently be held in Cherkasy. Since 2011 the stadium “Central” in Cherkasy is the home arena of the newly created FC “Slavutich.” which was not the last factor in bringing the stadium in order
